About

About Me

I've loved cameras from the day I received my first film camera in a show bag. As this stage my interest was more on pulling it apart than the photos it could have taken.

I wasn't very intrested in film photography though I can remember some of the silly scenes I made with Lego men and Yowies to capture on a disposable camera. One day, I will revisit film photography with an SLR.

I bought my first digital camera in 2005, a 3.2 MegaPixel Konica Minolta DiMAGE Xg with a whooping 1.6" LCD Screen. Since then, I have moved though both the Sony Cybershot DSC-T9 and T10 and finally moved to a Digital SLR at the end of 2007.

At the moment, I try to spend as much of the day as I can outside. I quite enjoy driving around in the Patrol exploring the great Backyard known as Australia!

My Rant

Every now and again, someone will compliment me on one of the photos that I have taken "Your photos are amazing!" they say. "I wish I had a good camera so I can take photos just as wonderful..."

The amazingness of the photos you take are not limited by your camera, they are limited by what you think you and your camera can do.

Nikon E5700 (2002)
27 mm | f/3.7 | 8 sec | ISO 400

The moon rising over the ocean, captured in Batemans Bay. I borrowed a digital camera for the weekend as mine was out of action.

Minolta DiMAGE Xg (2004)
6 mm | f/2.8 | 4 sec | ISO 160

A train dissaperaring into a tunnel in Sydney, one of my best long exposure photos.

Sony DSC-T10 (2006)
13 mm | f/4.0 | 1/100 sec | ISO 160

A photo taken on a sunny day in Ulladulla. I really like the framing of the girls in this photo.

None of the photos above were taken on a Digital SLR. They were all taken on a normal point and shoot camera and chances are, the camera you have is newer and better.

If you love photography, Never let your equipment limit you, there will always
be better equipment. You only have one chance to capture now.

Creativity is only a click away... You just need to release the shutter.
